We’ll restore precise heating and stable performance to your induction hob

When the hob turns on, but cooking is no longer smooth

An induction hob should respond quickly and accurately: you place the cookware on the zone, select the power level and the heating starts without delay. But when the hob stops detecting pans, shows an error, switches off by itself or no longer responds to the touch panel, everyday cooking becomes frustrating.

Sometimes the fault begins with small signs: one zone heats less than usual, the controls only respond after several attempts, or the power level changes unevenly. With induction hobs, many of these symptoms can be linked to electronics, sensors, the control module or the power supply system, so it is better to have them checked early.

At Repar.tech, we repair induction hobs and cooktops in Tenerife. Our technician diagnoses the appliance, finds the cause of the fault and explains what repair is needed in your case.

Signs that your induction hob needs to be checked

An induction hob can fail for different reasons: from cookware detection or touch control problems to faults in the power module, electronic board or one of the heating zones. That is why it is important to check not only the visible symptom, but also what is happening inside the system.

Customers usually contact us when:

  • the induction hob does not turn on;
  • it does not detect cookware;
  • one or several zones do not heat;
  • an error code appears;
  • a heating zone turns on and immediately switches off;
  • the touch panel does not respond;
  • the power level cannot be adjusted;
  • the hob heats unevenly;
  • there are unusual noises, clicks or buzzing sounds;
  • the hob overheats;
  • the lock or safety protection activates;
  • it switches off while cooking;
  • the circuit breaker trips;
  • it stopped working after a power surge;
  • the glass is cracked or damaged.

If the hob starts working irregularly, it is better not to wait until it stops turning on completely. In many cases, timely diagnosis can help avoid a more expensive repair.

Why an induction hob does not detect cookware

One of the most common situations is when the hob turns on but does not recognise the pot or pan. Sometimes the reason is simple: the cookware is not suitable for induction, the base is too small, or it is not placed correctly on the heating zone.

But if the same cookware used to work properly before, the fault may be related to sensors, the induction coil, the electronic module, internal contacts or the power control system. It can also happen after overheating, a power surge or moisture getting under the surface.

During diagnosis, the technician checks not only the heating zone, but also the electronics, power supply, touch controls and internal connections.

If the touch panel does not respond or an error code appears

The touch panel is one of the most important parts of an induction hob. It controls the heating zones, power levels, timer and safety lock. If the controls do not respond or react unpredictably, the hob becomes difficult and potentially unsafe to use.

The cause may be dirt or moisture on the surface, but it can also be a ribbon cable, control board, touch module or electronic fault. If an error code appears, it can help narrow down the diagnosis, although it does not always point to one exact part.

The technician checks whether the issue is related to the controls, power supply, overheating, safety lock or internal electronics.

What we check during diagnosis

An induction hob is not just a glass surface with heating zones. Inside, it uses electronic components, power elements, induction coils, temperature sensors, cooling fans and protection systems. That is why accurate diagnosis is especially important.

During the inspection, we may check:

  • the touch panel;
  • the control module;
  • the power board;
  • the induction coils;
  • the heating zones;
  • the temperature sensors;
  • the cooling system;
  • the fan;
  • internal contacts and connections;
  • wiring;
  • power supply;
  • signs of overheating, moisture or damage.

After diagnosis, we explain what caused the fault, what repair options are available and how much the work will cost. We only begin the repair after your approval.

What induction hobs we repair

We work with different types of household induction hobs and cooktops:

  • built-in induction hobs;
  • freestanding induction cookers;
  • cooktops with 2, 3, 4 or more zones;
  • models with touch controls;
  • hobs with timer and safety lock;
  • mixed cooktops;
  • induction hobs with Booster function;
  • models with electronic power control.

We repair appliances from Bosch, Siemens, Balay, AEG, Electrolux, Teka, Whirlpool, Candy, Beko, Samsung and other common brands. If you do not know the exact model, you can send us a photo of the rating plate or the appliance, and we will help identify it.

Induction hob repair across Tenerife

We want the repair process to be as convenient as possible. You do not need to remove the hob yourself or find a way to take it to a service centre.

Repar.tech technicians travel across the entire island of Tenerife, covering both the north and the south. We work in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Adeje, Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas, Puerto de la Cruz, Candelaria, El Médano, Los Gigantes and other towns across the island.

Whenever the fault allows it, diagnosis and repair are carried out directly at your home. If a more detailed inspection, removal or workshop repair is needed, we explain the next steps and agree them with you before moving forward.

Spare parts, warranty and final testing

For repairs, we use quality spare parts, either original or certified, depending on the hob model and the availability of components. After the repair, the technician checks the heating zones, touch panel, power adjustment, safety systems and overall stability of the appliance.

All our repairs come with a warranty. With induction hobs, this is especially important because the repair involves electronics, electrical power and everyday safety.

How to reduce the risk of new faults

An induction hob needs careful use. Although it has no open flame, it is sensitive to overheating, moisture, impact on the glass and sudden voltage changes.

To help it last longer, we recommend:

  • using cookware suitable for induction;
  • placing the pan in the centre of the heating zone;
  • keeping moisture away from the touch panel;
  • not using the hob if the glass is cracked;
  • avoiding impact from heavy pots or pans;
  • cleaning the surface only after it has cooled down;
  • not ignoring error codes;
  • stopping use if the hob overheats or switches off by itself.

If the hob stops detecting cookware, switches off during cooking or no longer responds to touch properly, it is best to book a diagnosis as soon as possible. Many faults are easier to fix before they damage other components.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my induction hob not detecting cookware?

Sometimes the problem is not the hob itself, but the cookware: induction only works with pots and pans that have a magnetic base. However, if the same cookware used to work before and is no longer detected, the fault may be in the cooking zone, sensors, electronic module or control panel.

What should I do if my induction hob shows an error code?

An error code means the hob has detected a fault. It may be caused by overheating, a power supply issue, a faulty sensor, poor ventilation, a cooking zone failure or an electronic problem. It is better not to keep resetting the hob, but to book a diagnosis and find the real cause.

Why does one cooking zone not heat while the others work?

If only one zone is not working, the fault may be related to a separate induction coil, temperature sensor, control module or internal connection. The technician will check that specific zone and determine whether a repair or component replacement is needed.

Can I keep using the hob if it switches off by itself?

It is better not to keep using it without an inspection. A hob that switches off on its own may be overheating, have poor ventilation, an unstable power supply or a fault in the electronic module. If it turns off while cooking, it should be checked as soon as possible.

Why is the touch panel not responding?

The touch panel may stop responding because of dirt, moisture on the surface, an active child lock or a fault in the control system. If cleaning the surface and restarting the hob does not help, the issue may be in the touch module or electronics.

My induction hob clicks or makes noise. Is that normal?

Light clicking, humming or short sounds can be normal during induction hob operation, especially at high power. But if the noise becomes louder, you hear crackling, notice a burning smell or the hob works irregularly, it is best to call a technician.

Do you repair built-in induction hobs?

Yes. We repair built-in induction hobs from different brands. If the hob needs to be removed from the countertop or the connection needs to be checked, the technician will explain this during the diagnosis.

Do I need to remove the hob before the technician arrives?

No, usually you do not need to do that. The technician will assess the hob, the connection and access to the components. If removal or repair at the workshop is required, this will be agreed with you before moving forward.

Can I know the repair price in advance?

In some cases, we can give an estimate based on the problem description, the hob model or the error code. However, the exact price depends on the cause of the fault and the spare parts needed, so it is confirmed after diagnosis.

Does induction hob repair come with a warranty?

Yes. All our repairs come with a warranty. After the repair, the technician checks that the hob turns on, detects cookware, heats steadily, responds to the touch panel and does not show errors during use.
